70th Floral Fest

Yes, get the smelling salts, I'm back again for the 2nd time in a month 😁.

Had a bit of free time as having a couple of chill days as the AF has decided to play up again, after 2 years of behaving 😔.

I wasn't sure if I had already posted this card previously, so apologies if I have. It was in my unblogged folder but that doesn't guarantee it.

It was made sometime ago as Davey had asked for a 70th card for a lady we used to work with, who he still keeps in touch with. The lady likes gardening so I went down the floral route.

MAWTT April Challenge

Good morning folks.

Hope that you are all well and that you have had a very happy and peaceful Easter.

My Easter Sunday did not go quite as planned with a 6am gallbladder attack. Fortunately, this one did not necessitate a trip in an ambulance but it is the 3rd attack since Christmas ......... prior to that I hadn't had an attack for over 12 months. I cannot begin to describe the pain involved.

Anyhoo, I'm back today with a card for the MAWTT DT for April's challenge which is .......

FANCY FOLDS

Love seeing unusual shaped cards, especially when they fold flat. With postage costs going up again today, the flatter the better for me.

I think I made this card for a magazine commission (it was a while back) and the above pic is the rear of the card, showing how the pop out section on the front works.

Very simple to make but very dimensional yet folds flat.

Magazine kit papers and sentiment

Gold mirror card 

White card

Circle nesting dies

I hope that this photo shows the structure of the card and the pop out centre.

Thankfully, I have a couple of days off now so hopefully, the gallbladder will settle itself down before I'm back at work.

MAWTT MARCH CHALLENGE

Good morning campers, Hi De Hi !!!

Hope that everyone is happy and well.

been an interesting couple of weeks here at The Pond. Our kitchen roof decided to leak and bring down a third of the ceiling. Thankfully, no one was underneath it at the time and The Girls were out. not quite how I envisaged my week off, clearing up plaster from everywhere and mopping the floor umpteen times ......... its amazing how much plaster dust can ingrain itself into flooring.

Well, it kept me off the streets.

Anyhoo, back to nicer things. Today is a new challenge over at MAWTT and the theme is 

TRAINS, PLANES AND AUTOMOBILES

Now, it would be very lovely of you to pop over and have a look but it would be extra lovely this month as I have set the theme.

A very simple card for my lovely friend Andy. He loves campervans (you may remember from previous posts) and I saw this peel off and couldn't resist.

Well, my goodness, this post has been an absolute nightmare to create. It has obviously been a while and I had clearly forgotten what I was doing with editing, adding text, making sure that I had saved images as JPEGs instead of PDN files, having to clear cache and cookies, then change my password as I'd forgotten the last one.

I was ready to give up and play laptop frisbee!!!

Anyhoo, 2 hours later, here I am finally.

A wee update with me. When I last blogged properly back in June 2021, I was 6 weeks out from an op to sort out my arrhythmia. Unfortunately, it didn't work 😥 so I was back to feeling somewhere between not well and bloomin awful. 

I couple more cardioversions put me back in rhythm for short periods but 2 years ago I was offered a newish hybrid ablation and I agreed.

Unfortunately, during the tests, they discovered the AF had caused an issue with one of my valves so I would need a repair or replacement. Still waiting for that to be done, delayed for various reasons.

As I was in quite a state with the AF at that point, I had yet another cardioversion nearly 2 years ago and thank heavens, I'm still in rhythm and feeling quite well, all things considered. That won't last if they don't do the surgery soon so I may need to chase them up.

I've also had 2 lots of eye surgery last Summer and thankfully, all seems well with that.

On the upside, my foot care business has gone from strength to strength and I'm working 3 days per week and am in the fortunate position to be able to refer people to someone else as my books are pretty much full.

That's pretty much the short version (I can imagine you all thinking, "how long is the long version then?") as I can't remember if I had the gallstones last time, as they rear their ugly heads now and again.

Mr Duck and The Girls are well. Lily and Molly are 6 now. Have no idea where that time has gone.

Mr D has dropped to part time now so we get Fridays off together.................as you can imagine, he's absolutely thrilled by that 😀.

Nesta and Davey are both happy and well and Flash is still in residence across the road, although his wife has taken on that role of late................I'll save that for another post!!!

That's me for now. I need a strong cup of tea to get over today's Blogger experience.

Well, hello there!!!

How are you all? Well, I say "all" as I have no idea if anyone is following me anymore.😀

I have decided to get back into my crafting, following a couple of years of heath stuff, and have started back on the MAWTT design team. I have posted on Facebook but wondered if anyone was still following on here.

If so, I will resurrect my blog so please let me know if anyone is still out there. Just a "Hello" would be great so that I can gauge if the interest is still there.

Having said that, I had over 21,000 views last month and that's without me posting for over 2 years 😊.

MAWTT Challenge 131

 

Good morning everyone. Hope that you are all well.

Its been a long few weeks at this end. I had my op 6 weeks ago and there has been a fair few up and down moments.and return hospital visits. Recovery is certainly slow going and it could take them 3 months to know whether the op has worked or not. I'm keeping everything crossed as I really don't want to go through all that again.

Now, on to a nicer subject. Its time for another challenge at MAWTT and the theme this month is

and has been chosen by yours truly.

Curvy Florals

Hello everyone. Hope that you are all fandabidosie (there's a blast from the past).

Well, here's a shocker, 2 posts in a month from me....... I like to spoil you 😀.

I did promise you an update from The Pond. Its been an up and down few months to be honest. I went back into AF just before Christmas, slowly getting worse, ended up in hospital for 3 days over Easter, another cardioversion.

I have been on the waiting list for an ablation for almost a year and that has been expedited to next week.so I know I need to try it in the hope it improves my condition but still pooing myself.

So, that's my news. It has been a difficult few months but, as I always say, there are others worse off.

Now, back to something nice (hopefully).......... the card 😀. I found this floating in my files and I am fairly sure that I haven't shown it before and you all know that I love a floral or two. The flowers are set into a channel between the borders.

MAWTT Challenge 129

 

Good morning everyone. Hope that you are all well?

I am late with this posting for the MAWTT DT as Blogger decided to play silly beggars.

Firstly, it posted a day early but with only a photo and then when I tried to reschedule, it didn't ......... technology eh? Apologies to those who had commented as they seem to have disappeared.

So, hopefully, it will post correctly post this time or its a round of laptop frisbee today.

This month's challenge at MAWTT is to use animals or birds on your cards so I'm sure that you can find some goodies in your stash that fit the brief.

Now, my card has been lurking in a file, waiting for the right moment to appear and was one I had made for John as a sample about 2.5 years ago ..... a bit of Christmas shine.

JND Woodland Scene cut and emboss folder

Engraving Art (Scratch board) card usually comes in gold, silver and copper but I managed to find some in white.

I used John's cut and emboss folder with a piece of it and then gently scrubbed over the raised areas to give a snowy look, rather than a metallic look.

MAWTT Challenge 128

 

Good morning folks. Hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Been and up and down month at The Pond. Have been working and making samples for Mr L but in between not feeling 100%.

Heart stuff still going on but also had some after effects from my first vaccine dose .............. before anyone starts incinerating anything, not had it already due to my age but because of my job 😀.

Had a variety of after effects, even after 12 days so I'm hoping that the 2nd one doesn't do the same.

Anyhoo, here we are again with another super challenge at MAWTT and the theme this time from the lovely Christine is ......................

Hopefully Spring is coming as I'm looking forward to the lighter nights and warmer days, which fortunately we have had the last few days.

Another month gone by and into February already. Just think, last February we were oblivious as to what lay ahead in 2020......... 

Had the joys of doing my tax return last week, last minute Annie that I am and what fun it was 😳, Every year I resolve to be more organised with it but I will this year 😇.

Its February challenge time over at MAWTT and this month's theme is ....................

A very appropriate theme for the month indeed, so no excuse for you not to enter.

Now, this was the card I made for Mr D a couple of years ago and it has been languishing in my annals (hopefully that doesn't auto correct 😃) since. I'm still trying to come up with an idea for this year's.
