Friends are special treasures. . . . . . . . . .

Good morning everyone. Hope all is well with you and yours. I am preparing this for scheduling earlier than usual as I'm at the dentist this afternoon (Thursday) and don't know if I will be up for blogging after having my mouth messed with.........a cracked porcelain inlay so it ain't going to be pleasant I'm guessing and I will probably be more distressed than a Tim Holtz card, but enough of my dental mishaps!!! Whilst I hopefully have your sympathy, will some kind soul please become a follower as I am on 13 currently and yes I am superstitious.
I am just testing how to link blogs so I am using Heather as guinea pig to see if you can link through to her blog by clicking here.

Now, I had done a second card using the double embossing on the background and here it is. Honestly Elaine, its not at all time consuming or tricksy. The card does have more of a greeny tinge in real life rather than the bluey tone showing on my screen but all screens seem to look slightly different.

The base card is a white 5x7 blank. I cut a slightly smaller mat from white card and stamped the rose stamp in Versamark and clear heat embossed. I then inked over the card with Broken China Distress Ink...............and this is what you get..........................

This is not mounted onto the base card. I have just popped it onto some white card so it stood out better for the photo.
I then made sure that this was completely dry before stamping all over with another flower stamp in Versamark and clear heat embossing again. I then inked over this with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink. I could not get the photo of this stage to look right but you can see the effect on the close up below.
I just added a trio of strips of navy blue organza ribbon and topped them with SB Scalloped Ovals, which I inked to tone in with the background, and a sentiment from a Debbi Moore stamp set (freebie with something else).
Finished with a two finger bow made with pale blue and pale green organza ribbons.

That's me for now folks. Hopefully, by the time you read this, my tooth is sorted and I haven't been arrested for putting the dentist's drill somewhere about his person, requiring surgical removal LOL!!!

Have a good day.

  1. Good Morning Ang and all

I hope the old mouth is feeling better maybe you won't be so lippy for a few days! :)

Nice to know I have my uses!!!

Lovely card today love the colours used; you have this technique stitched don't you? I must give it another try. It looks as though you have stamped over the ribbon - I know you haven't but I really like the way it looks as though you have. Catch you later.

  5. Absolutely beautiful Ang, such a lovely colour and all the embossing is wonderful, it looks a bit time consuming, but worth the effort.

Got through to Heather from here, well done. Can you say how you did it? I'd love to be able to do it as well.

Terrified of dentists, mine is so good looking and that's what makes me go. Hope you got on ok and it wasn't too much of an ordeal and back to normal now.
Have a lovely day, Kate x

      It really isn't time consuming. . . . 10mins?
The usually nice Heather (lippy indeed!) gave me this link for linking instructions http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk/p/help-info.html
      Hope that helps. x

  6. Hi Ang. Cringing at the thought of dentists. My 6 month check is due and I'm shaking at the thought of it. My dentist is a lady who is lovely and kind but still...
Love todays card. Love the background. For the first day this week I have the whole day to craft so I might have a go at this this technique.
    Have a good day.
