What does a Caliburless Duck do?. . . . . . . . . . .

She book folds hahaha!!!

Good morning blogging chums. Hope this finds you well.
Thank you for your lovely and encouraging comments about my diary of carp lol!!! I'm not one to be koi . . . . . . .koi, carp, gettit??? Look, just humour me eh hahaha!!!

Some of the carp is ongoing;
Calibur still being tricksy
Camera still being tricksy
Work still being tricksy

Was going to borrow a friends' camera but the software wasn't compatible with my old laptop (I think its running Windows Noah's Ark Edition lol!) so I've had to make do with my phone.
The first book fold I did was the free heart pattern one that's been doing the rounds (forgot to photograph it so will pop it on another time)
These two were patterns I paid for from ebay. Ive done the "Charity" one to go in the window at work to advertise that we sell books. I did think about doing "Read" but thought that was more likely to get half inched (yes, sadly it happens).
I have painted the cover in lime green eco acrylic paint from CE. I didn't want to make it too fancy in case it made it too tempting for half inching lol!
I have inked the word with Crushed Olive distress Ink

This second one of a VW Camper Van is for one of my volunteers. He is a lovely guy who works very hard, despite a disability, with me on a Tuesday morning. He loves cars and also Camper Vans so I thought he may like this as a little thank you.
I have also painted the cover of this with the same paint but in a pearlised blue and inked the bottom half of the van in Broken China Distress Ink.

I have my Allen keys now so will be attempting to repair the Calibur again. Christine Emberson passed my email to Spellbinders and Ive had an email from them wanting various details.
Watch this space.

I am still trying to play catch up round your blogs. From Sunday, I have some time off so will have more time to do that properly.

Thanks for bearing with me and have a happy Friday and weekend (Hungarian GP hurrah!!! Don't start that joke off about my doctor again Val lol!!!). Hopefully will have some cards to show you soon or I'm afraid its the pole dancing hahaha!!!

  7. Hi Ang, these are lovely. I've got hooked on this too, makes a very different gift.
I found a programme for the patterns, called Orimoto, The free version allows you to do 4 or 5 letter words, but I did buy the full programme which is great. http://www.orime.de/vorlagenprogramm/login.php.
At least you have a ready supply of books.

  8. Morning Ang,
Your book folds are stunning, don't think I could attempt anything like this just don't have enough patience.
At least you got a reply from Spellbinders, when I was having problems I didn't get a answer from my e-mail. Christine is a very helpful lady she sorted my problem for me, really quickly too.

  9. Hi Ang my friend, lovely to hear from you, thank you for your wonderful comments. I am worse than you at the moment, I just have not had the time to come on here and comment on everyone's post, have been so busy with you know what, I am now taking a breather before the next one lol! Really enjoying it but a lot of time and hard work.
Amazing books , love them both, I hope to get round to doing one for my Daughter Jan kindly sent me the pattern through for her name so I really want to do this as a Chrissie present for her.
Don't ever stop waffling Ang, I love your waffle!!! Mmm sounds quite saucy lol!!!

    Love & Hugs

  10. "half inching"?? Had to Google that one, I always learn something new when I visit you! lol. Book folding eh? That is something I would just never attempt to do, my attention span is just way too short for that. You seemed to have mastered it though, well done.

Seems it's been a bit of a pain summer for quite a few people. I have been doing a dance with some workers as they rip apart my home looking for a leaky pipe. I officially have more plastic than plaster at this point! Hubby and I have decided to vacate before the place crashes in on us, so we are on the hunt for a new home! Keep your fingers crossed for us. hugs :)

  11. Wow Ang your book folding looks amazing! Decided against driving back from mum's today with all the rain so sitting watching second practice now. This morning's crash fortunately didn't leave any injuries. I will have to sort out the timings for Sunday as I am going to the Suffolk Papercrafting show. Still enjoy the race. Haven't heard anything from Spellbinders myself yet but perhaps I will during the coming week. Bye for now, don't work too hard love from Jackie xx

  13. Hi Ang, fabulous book, I think these are awsome, can't fathom how they are done, apart from the folding of course.
Now how about a completly different machine all together, Big Shot has now an large machine that takes A4, much mor sturdy than the GC,
Hope you get all your tricksy problems fixed soon, hugs Kate x

  16. Hi Ang, enjoyed your post and loved your books, I have tried a couple and found it very relaxing. One was the Heart, only forty pages and very easy, then did a pair of baby feet as a keepsake for my new Great Grandson, shaded the pages etc and decorated the outside cover, I was so pleased with the end result. Now I want to do my Grand daughters name Ocean! and have seen that there is a girl on Etsy who will construct the pattern. So looking into that one. Thanks for the chuckle, Linda.

  17. Hi Ang,
so glad life on the pond sounds more relaxing, and no more probs to report.
Wonderful book folding, and super designs.
Lets hope Spellbinders can sort out your beloved GC, or you can as you sound quite an expert.
Love and big hugs from my house to yours.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  18. Hello Ang,
I can't believe it - I didn't leave a comment yesterday and I did visit the pond. I think I must have been frightened off by some bigger ducks!!! I don't want to carp on, but I hope you get your GC sorted. I found Spellbinders very helpful.
Now your books. These are fabulous and I must get cracking and do some as I love them. The camper van would be brilliant for a neighbour, but if I did one there would be no chance she would get it - it would be mine - all mine!!! lol.
I think I'd chain these down if I were you to stop them "disappearing" from the shop!!

  19. Super book folding. Love the charity one. I went down our local charity shop and chose some nice books( by their size and thickness only) but came unstuck when I got them home as I now need to read em first!!! Then I got doubly stuck as I bought a pattern from Etsy only to find the largest book is 50 pages too thin!! Back to the drawing board. Hugs Mrs A.
